Mercy and Justice

Mercy and Justice Ministry encourages Christians to respond to the Gospel by showing love (1) to the world and demonstrating mercy and justice, (2) in particular to the needy and defenceless. 

We support groups and organisations in Australia and around the world by running prayer events, raising awareness and mobilising HCC members to serve by volunteering.

Newtown Mission: Jordan Cafe

HCC is committed to serving the Poor of the Sydney community through its partnership with the Jordan Cafe, reaching out to the Homeless and people in need in Newtown and its surrounding suburbs. Opportunities available include serving actively in the kitchen during weekdays, interacting with clients, to one-off or regular food donations.

Sydney Refugee Team

The SRT focuses on supporting asylum seekers arriving in Australia and refugees permanently settling through food donations, counselling and various other programs.Opportunities offered include food hamper donations, refugee family camps, signing up as a regular “Refugee Companion”, and one-off volunteering opportunities to cater for picnics and various other events during the year!

International Justice Mission

HCC and its members are committed to financially support the work of IJM, specialised in bringing justice to the Poor in various regions of the world (South East Asia, Africa, Europe, South America). Opportunities available mainly focus on advocacy to spread the word about the work of IJM, and ultimately what God is doing through His people both in IJM and in HCC, and bringing justice to the Poor across the world.

compassion

Compassion is a Christian international holistic child development organisation. Through their Child Sponsorship Program, more than 2 million children are currently being released from poverty in Jesus’ name. With over six decades of experience, Compassion has proven to be faithful to the call to reach out to the Poor and Orphan in very practical ways. Many HCC members opt to sponsor children as part of their worship.
