1. From the message, how do you now understand the role and function of God and Satan?  And where does our own sinfulness come in the picture?

2. If God called us to a costly discipleship in the first place [Matthew 16:24; Luke 14:26; Mark 10:21-22], why are we so often surprised in real life and struggle so much by the losses we experience?

3. How can we cultivate great hope and faith like Job and other saints?  What direction are we given from the sermon?
